Friday - 1/8 - Homework

Journal

¿Qué hiciste en Navidad?

Finished in Class:

Preterite vs. Imperfect Worksheet  Part 1&2

Homework:

1. Finish Preterite vs. Imperfect Worksheet  Part 3

2. Read over the review of the imperfect and preterite on this page:

https://www.whynotspanish.com/preterite-vs-imperfect-uses/

At the end, you will see the Noisy Cat Story we read in class, read one sentence aloud to yourself, then press the play button above the story to listen to the native speaker read that sentence.

Pause it and practice saying that sentence again to sound like her. Her accent is more formal, using the "J" sound (used in Spain and a few countries in South America) instead of the "Y" sound which is used more in Latin America, which is what we're imitating. You can choose to speak with either the Y like we normally do, or J just for kicks in for this pronunciation assignment if you choose.

Once you think you can read the entire story aloud with good pronunciation and with the expression letting me know you understand what you're saying, call me and read it to me on my Spanish voicemail box.
